ABOUT OUR GUITAR LESSONS
Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country, and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading, and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that in each lesson, you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes.
Our guitar lessons start as young as 6 years old, and we work with beginners all the way up through very advanced students.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT Guitar LESSONS
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST LESSON?
If you already have an instrument, please bring it with you as well as a pick. If you do not have an instrument yet, we likely have one to borrow for your first lesson. Once you decide the guitar is a right fit for you, you will need to purchase your own instrument. (please contact the front desk to confirm that we have a loaner instrument available)
I HAVE A GUITAR, BUT I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS THE RIGHT SIZE OR GOOD QUALITY, SHOULD I STILL USE IT?
If you have a guitar and it is your first time taking a lesson, please bring the instrument with you. Your teacher will make sure it is the right size and in good condition to use for lessons and practice at home.
WHERE SHOULD I GO TO PURCHASE A GUITAR?
It depends on how much you want to spend. If you are looking for a new guitar, we suggest going to Sam Ash or Guitar Center. If you are looking for a used guitar, we suggest going to Music Go Round. Once you purchase a guitar, your teacher will be able to help you tune it and make sure it is in good condition to use for your lessons and practice at home. We highly recommend getting a case or gig bag for your guitar, to help protect it and extend the life of the instrument.
What is the best age to start guitar lessons?
We recommend that students be at least six years old before starting private guitar lessons. Elementary age students typically need a smaller size guitar. Your instructor will be able to size you for the correct size instrument.
